Welcome

 Mrs. Thomas philosophy

As an early childhood care educator I believe children learn from the world around them. I will teach using the child’s interest and expand on the creativity of children's minds. As a educator I will have an understanding of the stages of development to help with classroom management and offer different ways of teaching to meet children's needs. Each child is unique and has a learning style of their own.

I believe the family is a extension of the learning process, together with the community we are a team helping to raise children to be productive citizens and leaders of the next generation. I will work with parents and community members to help guide children to success. I believe children learn through hands on approach and play, Vygotsky states, when children solve problems with concrete objects, they acquire new concepts.  I will allow children to explore, learn self discovery and watch their confidence will grow. I will provide lessons and activities that support hands on approach.

As an educator I am touching the lives of children and leaving an impression, a thumb print. I will create a safe, comfortable learning environment for children so they may explore their ideas.

You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.”
